ZOO BIOLOGY

The zoo biology working group conducts research using noninvasive methods in the areas of behavioral research, microbiome analysis, bioacoustics, and environmental psychology. Of particular concern are large-scale, comparative studies that we conduct with many partner zoos and in the field. We continue to be active in bachelor's, master's, and teacher education.

What we do

The Opel Zoo Endowed Chair of Zoo Animal Biology was established in 2014 and since then has been dedicated to research on wildlife using non-invasive methods and establishing these topics in university teaching.
